As weave installs have become an even bigger trend in the hair world as more African American woman have started to embrace their natural curls. The question has been posed "Are SewIns Truly Protective Hairstyles?”

As a hairstylist that has been in the industry at least 18 years and built my clientele off of traditional SewIn installs I say YES! However I stand to state when they are installed properly and taken care of.

As a stylist you should be having a detailed consultation with your client that should include; lifestyle, desired outcome, commitment etc. Anything that isn’t water doesn’t grow and also everything is not for everybody. Weave installations should be an option under any install a clients hair should be properly cared for and loved on.
